High Efficiency loudspeakers of varying shapes and sizes were highly visible at this year’s High End show. Some of older vintage and some modern, they captured my attention just enough to have me sit and listen. As expected, their sound quality differed from speaker to speaker and room to room, but one thing they seemed to have in common were an inherent purity quotient followed by dynamic intensity and the beauty of harmonic integrity: the one advantage high efficiency transducers own over their competition.
