High End 2016 part 2

Growing Trends 

While turntables and LPs ruled the day at this year’s High End show once again (CD players have almost disappeared entirely), I was surprised by the increased popularity in USB supported DACs as well as the various incarnation of music servers on display at this year’s show. While vinyl appeared omnipresent, what most surprised me however was the influx of reel to reel machines I saw throughout the show.

Vinyl: What’s Old is New!

My, my how times have changed. Of the nearly one-hundred rooms I visited one, maybe two, were without a turntable. I feared the Burgermeister would have the person responsible carted away and stoned! Just when you thing to yourself you’ve seen them all… that certain gem appears and just leaves you scratching breathless. Here’s but a fraction of the many that were on display….
