Live On-Line Chat with Matthew Polk To Launch New Polk Audio Web Site

Baltimore, MD – On October 20, 2000, Polk Audio announced that it would celebrate the grand opening of the all-new Polk Audio web site with a live on-line chat with Polk Audio founder Mathew Polk. The moderated chat will occur on Monday, December 4, 2000 between 7:00 and 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Matthew will answer consumer and press questions about home, car and multimedia speakers and sound. Participants and observers should log on tohttp://www.polkaudio.com during the scheduled event times.

Polk Audio has had a strong on-line presence since 1995 and its current site draws well over one million visitors per year. The new site builds upon the current site’s strengths and adds improved cosmetics, easier navigation and enriched content. “Our marketing campaign is based around Polk Audio being ‘The Speaker Specialists’ and the company to look toward for unbiased guidance to navigate the complexities of today’s audio technology” says Polk Audio Marketing VP Al Ballard. “Our research shows that consumers are hungry for information on home theater, car stereo and multimedia sound. The new polkaudio.com site is chock-full of educational content to satisfy that hunger.”

Each major section of the site offers an “Education” section with a “Library” of informational documents for download, a “Toolbox” with interactive tools such as an automated “System Builder” and “Crossover Calculator” and an “FAQ & Advice” department filled with informational articles.

The new Polk site will also feature expanded e-commerce offerings. As well as the Polk multimedia speakers and logo-wear currently offered for sale, consumers will soon be able to shop for and purchase various accessories on polkaudio.com. Sanus Systems speaker stands and A/V furniture that match Polk speaker finishes will be available, as will OmniMount brand wall mount brackets, AVIA set-up DVDs and other accessories.

The new polkaudio.com will ‘soft” launch in mid November, with the Grand Opening on December 4^th.
